Marshall & Tori: Getting Married!!!

I don't know how this happens... but I seriously have the most BEAUTIFUL clients!!! Tori and Marshall worked. it. out. on this photo shoot. My goodness! Thank you for making my job super easy. Sheesh.
I used to work with Tori and I was super excited when she asked me to photograph her engagement photos. She is a photographer herself, so that makes me feel extra flattered. Marshall proposed to Tori on New Years Eve, surprising her with the ring of her dreams. Since her ring is so unique, I had to capture a few:

PS... I am pretty sure this is my new favorite location. Something about LOVE and warm desert sunlight. Magic. :)
Are you kidding me, Tori?! Perfection.
 ...Love this.

 Oh snap!

...and right about here is when a golf ball came flying at our heads. True story.

Congratulations Tori & Marshall! You two are adorable. :) Can't wait for the wedding!

Jim & Nicki: Engaged!

Meet Nicki: my co-worker, partner-in-crime, vent-ee (is that a word?), and weekly Macayo's chimi-sharer. :) We spend about 60 hours per week together at my "real" job and laugh our way through it. You know the giggles you get when you are completely exhausted? Yep. That's us Monday thru Friday. :)
Nicki met Jim years ago and together they have the most adorable little guy, James. These two three are getting married in their hometown of Nebraska in just a few months. I LOVE photographing friends and I feel like I scored with this shoot because these guys are GOOD LOOKIN'.

Get it??? Corn...Nebraska...  :)

I loved hearing that Jim told Nicki the next day that he actually had fun at the photo shoot! Yessssss!!!!
It's not just the images... I want you to enjoy the experience. :)

Xoxo,
April

Megan + Davin: Engaged!

This is my beautiful Cousin, Megan and her new Fiance Davin. :) I was honored when Megan asked me to photograph her engagement pictures...and her wedding in October! After all, I was the one that chased after the money filled plastic eggs on Easter...ripped fingers off of the kids during a good game of Spoons...and argued with her and the other two grand children (at the time) for the PINK dress, not the green one! We played the most competitive games on dress-up you'd ever imagine. :) The best part about being a photographer is getting to hang out with your friends and family members in a different environment. I had a ton of fun with these two! We laughed at attempted piggy-back rides and bribed Davin about thirty times to "just try onnnnnnnee more shot?!" I'm loving how these images turned out. Can't wait for the wedding!

I'd like to pretend like this is what I had in mind when I shot this segment...look how perfect it turned out??!
Work it, Megan! She has the most beautiful eyes!!
 Perfection!

 Amazing!
 Hey now!
Thank you, 50mm 1.4F. :) Those are the San Tan Mountains perfectly blurred in the background.
I had to experiment with my new Fish Eye lens.

...and I pretty much died when I captured this shot! I don't know if I like it better in color or B/W so here is my take on both. (I changed the composition a bit to give them a slightly different look)

A Garden Wedding: Sarah & Drew

I first met Sarah and Drew last year during their engagement session. You can view their beautiful engagement images here :) I was absolutely stoked when Sarah contacted me to second shoot their wedding. I cannot begin to explain how much I adore this couple!!! I love when I connect with someone so much during a photo shoot that we become friends.

Sarah and Drew's garden themed wedding and reception was held at the Wright House in Mesa, AZ. Their evening was filled with botanical details, laughter, family and love. I hung with the grooms men most of the afternoon as Sarah's Aunt photographed the bridal party. Drew is such an easy-going, laid back guy with the most contagious smile. Every time I mentioned Sarah's name his eyes would light up and his smile would grow larger. Adorable! Sarah and Drew stayed traditional and opted not to see each other until the ceremony. Check out Drew's award winning reaction below. :) My tears fogged up my camera's LCD screen.

I get to photograph all kinds of people. I can say, these two were absolutely meant for each other. They are head-over-heels in love... and the most beautiful part of their partnership, is how much they respect one another. I cannot express how appreciative I am to be a part of your evening. Although I know we will stay connected, I wish you two endless happiness! xoxo.... April

Happy Holidays and new beginnings in 2013!!

Well, we survided the Apocalypse! Not gonna lie, I took the day off juuuussstt in case. (But, if Mayan's were good at predicting, there would still be Mayans. Right?) I not only survived, but enjoyed another busy year of photography!!! I wanted to thank each and every one of you that chose me to photograph your family, or who referred me to a friend, or even liked my Facebook page. I appreciate you more than you will ever know. I so very much LOVE getting to know you and yours for a good hour...laughing, smiling and hearing your kid's funny stories! My goal is that you enjoy that time, as much as your images. :) So many of you have turned into great friends. 2013 looks like it will be filled with LOVE - my favorite subject to photograph, with three weddings and two engagement sessions already booked! Yay! I pray you have a stress-free holiday and lots and lots of smiles with your family! Happy Holidays!!!

Taylor Family!

I loved this photo session! I ventured out of my comfort zone (Thanks to Leanna!) and walked the streets of Downtown Phoenix like the wanna-be hipster that I am. Yes I wore my Toms Bobs because I am cheap, and skinny jeans. There are so many fun places to photograph, eat, J-walk and be saranated by a very happy homeless man. True story. Leanna is such a fun momma, she isn't afraid of color and has such a fresh, funky style. I dig it! Her and Kieren wore matching red chucks. Perfection! Kieren is the most mature 7 year old I've ever met. His eyes stole my heart. Adorable!
